No surprises

A relaxed, professional experience.

A massage or facial should feel calm before it even begins. We try hard to remove the small uncertainties that can make a first visit stressful — what to wear, where to park, when to arrive, what to say.

  • Licensed and trained — Every therapist and esthetician on our team is licensed in Indiana and trained in their specialty.
  • Privacy is the default — You are professionally draped at all times. Only the area being worked is ever uncovered.
  • Your call, every step — Pressure, music, conversation, lighting, aromatherapy — all adjustable. Just say the word.
  • Welcome questions — There are no awkward questions and no wrong asks. Ask anything.
Your visit, step by step

From the door to the road

A typical first visit, start to finish. The session itself is the longest part — most people are in and out in 75 to 90 minutes total.

1

Arrival

10–15 minutes early

Park out front and head into reception. We will hand you a short intake form covering health history, current concerns, and anything we should know — pregnancy, recent surgeries, sensitivities, allergies. Take your time.

2

Meet your therapist

5 minutes

Your therapist or esthetician will walk you back, review the intake with you, and ask what you are hoping to get out of the session. Mention sore spots, areas to avoid, pressure preferences, and how much chatting you want.

3

Settle into the room

2–3 minutes

They will leave the room while you undress to your comfort level and get under the sheet — face-up or face-down, they will tell you which. Take a breath. There is a knock before they come back in.

4

Your session

60 or 90 minutes

You will be draped throughout — only the area being worked on is uncovered. Speak up about pressure, temperature, music, or anything else any time. There are no wrong questions and no awkward asks.

5

Wrap up

5 minutes

Your therapist will let you know the session is complete and step out so you can dress at your own pace. There is water in the room and again at the front. You can ask for stretches, home-care tips, or product recs on the way out.

6

Checkout & rebook

5 minutes

Pay at the front desk. If today felt good, we can put your next session on the calendar — many clients prefer to lock in a regular cadence so they keep the benefits going.

Prep

What to bring, what to skip

Bring

  • Yourself, ready for a calm hour off the clock
  • A list of any medications, recent surgeries, or injuries
  • Hair tie if you have long hair (helpful for facials and back work)
  • Method of payment — we accept cash and major credit cards
  • Membership card or gift card, if you have one

Skip

  • × A heavy meal right beforehand — light snack is better
  • × Strong perfume or cologne (out of consideration for the room and other clients)
  • × Big jewelry — easier to leave it at home
  • × Anxiety about getting it "right" — we will guide you through everything
Good to know

Common questions, plainly answered

Pressure and discomfort

Massage should never feel injurious. Deep pressure can be intense, but it should not feel like a sharp pain. If anything tips into "ouch," tell your therapist immediately and we will adjust.

Modesty and draping

You are professionally draped with a sheet at all times. Only the area being worked on — say, one shoulder or one leg at a time — is uncovered, and re-covered as the therapist moves on. Underwear stays on if you prefer.

Health conditions

Pregnancy, recent surgery, blood-thinning medications, or chronic conditions are not necessarily reasons to skip a session — but they do change what we do. Mention them on intake. Our team is trained for prenatal, post-surgical lymphatic, and many other specialty needs.

Allergies and sensitivities

Tell us about scent sensitivities, skin allergies, or product reactions. We can switch oils, skip aromatherapy, and use Eminence Organics products formulated for sensitive skin.

After your session

Get the most from your work.

The hour on the table is the headline, but a few small habits afterward keep the benefits going. Quick guidance from our team:

  • Hydrate — Drink water through the rest of the day. Massage and lymphatic work both move fluid through your system.
  • Take it easy — Skip the gym for the rest of the day if you can. Tomorrow is a great day to move.
  • Mild soreness is normal — Especially after deep tissue. It usually clears in 24–48 hours and feels different from injury pain.
  • Heat or ice for sore spots — A warm shower, heating pad, or ice pack on focused areas can extend the relief.
  • For facials, skip retinols tonight — Your skin has had a deep cleanse — let it rest before reintroducing strong actives.

FAQs

Everything else

Do I need to undress completely?
Undress to your level of comfort. Many clients undress fully under the sheet, but underwear is just as common. You will be professionally draped at all times — only the area being worked on is uncovered.
Will the therapist talk during the session?
It is your call. Some clients want to chat, most prefer quiet. Your therapist will follow your lead. You can change your mind partway through.
What if the pressure is too much or too little?
Speak up any time. We would much rather adjust than have you leave sore or unrelaxed. "A little lighter on the shoulders" is exactly the kind of feedback we want.
How early should I arrive?
For your first visit, plan on 10–15 minutes early to fill out a quick intake form. After that, five minutes is plenty.
Should I tip?
Gratuity is appreciated but never expected. The customary range is 15–20% of the regular service price. Cash, card, and tipping at checkout are all fine.
Can I shower before or after?
A shower beforehand is welcome but not required. After a massage, we suggest waiting an hour or two so the oils and lotions have time to absorb into your skin.
What about facials — do I take off my makeup?
Come as you are. Your esthetician will cleanse your skin thoroughly at the start of every facial.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
We ask for at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or changes so we can offer the slot to another client. Late cancellations and no-shows may be charged a fee — your therapist will confirm the policy when booking.
