Hot Stone Massage

Deep, soothing heat that melts tension out.

Hot stone work uses smooth, heated basalt stones to deliver deep warmth into tight muscles. The heat softens tense tissue so your therapist can work more effectively, and it feels incredible if you run cold or carry stress in your shoulders, back, and neck. We offer hot stones as an enhancement to any Swedish or deep tissue session.

Why book this

What you can expect to feel

Deep warmth

Heat penetrates further than the strokes alone — great for stubborn shoulder and back tension.

Easier deep work

Warmed muscle is more pliable, so deeper pressure can reach without forcing it.

Cold-weather reset

A favorite from October through March. If you run cold, this changes the whole session.

Stress relief

The combination of warmth and pressure quiets the nervous system fast.

During

What to expect

Hot stones are added to your massage as an enhancement — your therapist warms the stones during your intake and uses them throughout the session. They are placed on warm-feeling areas (back, calves, palms), and your therapist also uses them to work tissue with sustained heat. Tell them right away if a stone ever feels too hot.
After

Aftercare

Hydrate as you would after any massage. Many clients sleep well that night. Pair with aromatherapy ($15) for a fully restorative session — eucalyptus or lavender are favorites.

FAQ

Common questions

Is it a separate service or an add-on?
It is delivered as a $15 enhancement to a Swedish or deep tissue massage. You book the base massage and add the stones.
How hot are the stones?
Comfortably warm — never hot enough to burn. Your therapist tests them and uses a layer of oil so the stones glide. Speak up if anything ever feels too warm.
Can I pair it with deep tissue?
Yes, and many clients prefer that combo. The heat softens tissue so deeper work goes more smoothly with less discomfort.
Any reasons not to do hot stones?
Some health conditions — diabetes, high blood pressure, varicose veins, recent injuries — can make heat work less appropriate. Mention any condition on your intake and we will adjust.
