Craniosacral Therapy

Whisper-light work that quiets the whole nervous system.

Craniosacral therapy is a hands-on technique using extraordinarily light pressure — about the weight of a nickel — to support the central nervous system through the membranes and fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. It can sound subtle, and it is, but the effects on chronic headaches, TMJ tension, and lingering stress can be remarkable.

During

What to expect

You stay clothed and lie on the table. The therapist places hands at specific points — head, sacrum, sometimes hips or feet — and holds them with very light contact. The work feels still, almost meditative. Some clients drop into deep relaxation; others notice subtle shifts during the session. Effects often unfold over the next day or two.
After

Aftercare

Drink water and take it easy for the rest of the day. Some clients feel deeply rested; others notice old patterns surface (a stretch, a memory, an emotion) — that is part of how the work integrates. The benefits of craniosacral often build with a few sessions.

FAQ

Common questions

Is it really that light?
Yes — about 5 grams of pressure. It can feel like the therapist is barely doing anything. The work is happening at a level beneath what direct pressure can reach.
Will I feel anything?
Some people feel deep relaxation, warmth, subtle shifts in tension, or emotional release. Others feel almost nothing during and notice changes hours later. Both are normal.
How many sessions does it take?
Some clients feel real change after one. Others benefit from a series of three to six. Your therapist will help you set expectations after the first session.
Who can I see for this?
Specific therapists at Jefferson Blvd including our owner Michael, who has been practicing it for years. Call and we will direct you to the right person for your situation.
