Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Specialized, gentle work for swelling and recovery.

Lymphatic drainage is a specialized, very gentle technique that supports your lymphatic system — the network of vessels that moves fluid, filters waste, and powers your immune response. It is often recommended after liposuction, tummy tucks, and other procedures to reduce swelling and speed recovery, and it is also useful for chronic swelling, post-illness fatigue, and immune support.

Helps the body move excess fluid out of swollen tissue.

Immune support

Encourages healthy lymph flow, which is central to immune function.

During

What to expect

The pressure is much lighter than a regular massage — almost surprisingly light. The therapist uses slow, rhythmic strokes that move toward lymph nodes. Sessions can feel very relaxing, even though the technique is doing real work. Bring loose, comfortable clothes for after.
After

Aftercare

Drink a lot of water — you are moving fluid through your system and your kidneys are doing extra work. Light walking helps. Follow your surgeon's guidance if you are post-op; we coordinate with their recovery plan.

New to massage? Our first-visit guide walks through arrival, draping, communication, and aftercare in detail.

FAQ

Common questions

When can I start after surgery?
Most surgeons recommend starting around day 4 or 5 post-op for liposuction, but always follow your surgeon's specific guidance. Bring written clearance to your first appointment.
How many sessions will I need?
For post-liposuction recovery, plans vary by surgeon — some recommend 3 to 5 sessions over the first few weeks, others more. We coordinate with the schedule your surgeon gave you.
Is it covered by HSA or FSA?
Often yes with a Letter of Medical Necessity for post-surgical recovery, lymphedema, or another documented condition. See our HSA / FSA guide.
How is it different from a regular massage?
Lymphatic drainage is much lighter and uses specific patterns to encourage lymph flow. A regular massage uses firmer pressure to address muscles. Different goals, different techniques.
